Working Hard or Hardly Working?

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

Working hard as opposed to hardly working are hugely separated apart by the Red Sea, not by a thin line akin to the Korean Peninsula's DMZ [Demilitarized Zone].

But for those hardly working, let's not prematurely conclude that they are dogs but more like lazy dogs. Why? Probably, that person's motivation level has reached the ebb. Probably, he hit rock bottom at that point in his life. But enough is enough. We can't just sob and sulk with self-pity. We need to figure out what's ailing the person? What was it that shot him down?

Akin to a car's dead battery, the quickest way to revive things is go find a jumper cable to jumpstart your stalled car. This is analogous to us humans. We would need to figure out who's our immediate helpline and that's it, go and reach out to your helpline. You would need him more than the other way around.

Unfortunately, this is not what is meant by giving your 100% at work. This is self-defeating, self-destructive. Akin to driving, find the nearest next U-turn corner because you need to make a 90-degree U-turn so that you will get to this positive 100% mindset.

At the end of the day, you're working to live and not the other way around. Who doesn't remember Wiz Khalifa's billboard hit 'WORK HARD PLAY HARD'? And if there's something noteworthy about the above 100% Table, do note the consistent 100% marks.

If there's something not to imbue, it is that 'flash in the pan' attitude wherein you give your 100% on a given day then taper off the next day because things won't work that way because what matters as you achieve small successes, it is the sustainability of that 100% attitude at work.
