Shake the Tree and see what falls

Shake the Tree and see what falls...

Stuff happens. Things shouldn't happen but they do. Such is life. You can only control so much. The rest you gotta deal with it. And oure reckoning moments kick-in when we face adversity. That's the time our mettle will be tested. Shaking the tree is the way to go. Take your chances. When you're down in deep 's____', you got nothing to lose. It becomes a win-win thing. Just don't leave things to chance.

As Pat Riley, one of the NBA’s most successful and most respected personas always leaned on his mantra: ‘the main thing will always be the main thing’. Point is, if you did set your goal[s], etch it on stone and take it as a personal crusade for you to achieve that pre-set goal[s]. How? You gotta be ‘locked in’. In the current NBA season, the Miami Heat are still in their cinderella run after all the top favorites [name it, you have it, e.g. Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics amongst others] have fallen by the wayside. Two protagonists are left standing in the ongoing NBA finals, the Miami Heat and the perennial favorites, LA Lakers.

In your run-up, try as you may to outrun the ‘demons’, you must realize quickly what is not in the cards for you. Take stock of things and more importantly, always remember neither you’ll ever be bigger than the game nor life itself. Remember, the rock didn’t start rolling by itself. It takes a village to push that before it starts rolling downward. And when you do succeed, we gotta realize that it’s not the success of the plot that matters but the audacity that fueled it in the first place.

Along the way, there will be numerous insignificant events but it’s what leads them to be of monumental importance because as you commit tons and tons of missteps, when those missteps pile up, what can shape up will be a trench too deep for you to seek refuge. Similar to the lithium batteries of our smart phones, keep that trench as shallow as possible because you still gotta extricate yourself out of it. You can’t get stalled there forever, else your game is over.

When all hell breaks loose, when you are down to your last penny, you can pray to all the Gods because you should never run out of optimism. You will need every ounce of it as you hammer out and get back on the road with your head above ground. And when you search for solutions, let it not be as shallow as the sandbar because that will not push you forward, if at all. You gotta squeeze yourself high and low. Trust me, once you get back in full throttle, you are back on track towards your ‘promised land’.
