That 'BUCKET LIST'

That 'BUCKET LIST', Try it.

BUCKET LIST, anyone? Yessirrrr, you owe it to yourself to come up with your very own bucket list. And even this global pandemic should NOT be a show-stopper for you to dream BIG. Grab a pen and paper, lock up yourself in one corner of your abode giving you just the right time to soul-search before you come up with your bucket list, PRONTO!

This is a given. Aim for the sky, and you’ll likely end up on the tree top. Aim for the tree top, and you’ll likely end up on the ground. And to borrow my daughter’s school motto, they always preach their students to ‘SOAR HIGH’.

I don’t have to name-drop celebrities. Weeks ago, my cousin shared a touching story of her relative who, from his boyhood, struggled in life but he never gave up for every struggle he faced, from his early school days in Calauag, Quezon and till he got successfully recruited to join the U.S. Navy. I may not know him but I was so mesmerized by that success story.

This tells us all that even poverty is not and should not be an impediment for one to succeed in life. But where’s the catch? What’s the catch? DREAM BIG. Here’s the caveat, though. You need to pair that BIG DREAM by THINKING BIG. You gotta match dream with words and with words turned into action. And what’s the ‘icing on the cake’?

Surround yourself with well-meaning and good people, folks who will motivate you every step of the way and won’t put a damper each time you’re set for the next step. Keep yourself in the company of AA’s [a.k.a. alcoholics anonymous] or other folks who will lead you towards a path that’s a detour of your original BIG DREAMED path, you’ll end up in tatters, unfortunately.

The great American Essayist, Ralph Waldo Emerson, said: “Don’t be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams”. Precisely, many of us end up by the wayside because we got side swept by problems that hit us along the way.

Andra Day, the American singer, songwriter and artist, once said: “And I’ll rise up high like the waves, I’ll rise up inspite of the ache, I’ll rise up and I’ll do it a thousand times again”.

Straight from my thought processes...
