How to Steady the Boat When the Water gets choppy

How to Steady the Boat When the Water gets choppy

For half a year now, we have been going through the rough seas, never giving up [not yet anyway]. Yet, studies show that 51% fear going against the tide. In layman’s term, a majority still wants be with that majority, unwilling to be the maverick fellow going against the tide.

And for family men, the challenges ahead remain daunting because it’s them who’s expected to steer the boat across the high seas. But as the family head, the bread winner, you gotta go against the grain, you gotta move the needle and be the game changer to create the greater impact for the greater good. There’s no middle of the road here.

And as a leader, you, me, we won’t be remembered for what he did but how he did it. Those fiery moments when he seemed to move with the clout. And when you’re in ‘survival mode’, you go back to basics, forget about the frills. But if something sets apart our life when compared to airplanes and ships, in life, there is NO auto-pilot. You can’t abandon the steering wheel and be multi-tasking.

Be the TOP DOG and be at the helm. You need motivation? Finding one does not require sonar. Get yourself up to spead and grind. If you have the goods, bring it on. Everyone in the bandwagon is hanging tough only insofar as you can remain that tough. When you loosen the grip, you bet, everyone else will lose the grip, that fast. Remember, there's HOPE ahead.

At the end of the day, from About.com, ‘No matter how bad or good you think life is, wake up each day and be thankful for life. Someone somewhere is fighting to survive. You may feel at the lowest ebb but trust me, there are zillions further deep down the totem pole, hardly surviving and fighting for survival now.

This is not a spin. You gotta tap your shoulders because you’re better off than those who are in the worst shape. Don’t lose that momentum of you waking up from that deep slumber. Go for it.
