So, Where Does Your ATTENTION Go?

Heard of this typical story.  There's this I.T. executive who is happily married, with children, works 12 to 14 hour-days, and perpetually feeling exhausted, leaving him with very little, if at all, energy left to engage with his family in the evenings.  And that made him feel guilty and dissatisfied.  Then, he slept poorly, rarely ate healthy meals, more often grabbing a bite to eat on the run OR while working on his desk.  So, WHAT's left of him?  WHAT happened to his ENERGY? Despite his focus at work, what seems to be ailing him?  Is he missing something serious enough to impact both his work life and his personal life?  So, Where Does Your ATTENTION Go❓❓❓

Oh, they say, 'when it rains, it pours', suggesting that maybe at times, challenging situations often get to hit us in rapid succession.  Then, it can feel like a never-ending cycle of disappointment, one problem piling one another.  It's as if you are trapped on a treadmill, endlessly encountering negative circumstances.  And in the face of such circumstances, we got two choices, namely, we can either fixate on the hardships OR accept them while taking charge of WHAT we can control.  WHICH path will you take?  It's like, oh it's only the beginning of the week, but here you are, feeling drained right on a Monday.  Then, this vicious cycle repeats week after week❌❌❌

Thing is, most of us respond to rising demands in the workplace by putting in longer hours, which inevitably, take a toll on us in all aspects, i.e. physically, mentally and even emotionally.  Then, where does lead us to?  That leads us to declining levels of engagement and conversely increasing the levels of distraction as we take on tasksπŸ“—πŸ“™πŸ“˜

BUT the core problem with working longer hours is that time is a finite resource.  BUT ENERGY  is a different story.  From a layman's perspective, our own energy comes from a combination of our body, emotions, mind and spirit.  And studies show that ENERGY can be expanded via specific ritualsπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ

What's our takeaway here?  Let us establish the rituals and behaviors that will that will help us to better manage our transformed ENERGY in our life.  Like you set an earlier bedtime, waking up more rested, then more motivated to start a new day.  In due time, you will find time to sit down and engaging with your family thereon.  So, WHERE does your attention go?  It goes to the rituals and behaviors you allow, plain and simple❎❎❎

So, When Do We RESET Life?

So, When Do We RESET Life? Good question.  Tough to answer, in fact because there is NO one correct answer to it.  We could RESET in a week, in a month, in a quarter, biennially, annually OR even every 3 to 5 years.  NO formula here, dude.  So, you'll ask, WHO tells us as to which frequency fits into your life?  I'll throw back that $64 question back to you because there are tons of WHAT IFs before we end up even with a half-hearted answerπŸ’΄πŸ’·πŸ’΅

BUT given the fact that we all have the same calendars we're glued at, we got to take note that the calendars all run via the WEEKLY CYCLESWHY?  Quite simple.  Except for entrepreneurs, most of us work on 5-day work weeks.  In fact, even most entrepreneurs would try to run schedules within those work WEEK CYCLES.  So, voila, we got the answerπŸ“—πŸ“™πŸ“˜
If you were to ask me, by default, I'll embrace the WEEKLY RESETWHY?  Remember there is a SAT-SUN buffer window and whether you RESET on SAT, on a SUN or by next Monday, it just makes sense and logical.  You might get back to me and question, because all along, you thought we would RESET only when we have a crisis at hand?  No sirrrrs.  Your sailboat could be coasting smoothly on the waters for a week and to RESET will work wonders.  WHY❓❓❓
So, you might ask, WHERE will the RESET happen every week at that?  Again, KEEP IT SIMPLEIF your schedules were thrown a monkey wrench the past week, to RESET means you need to do a better job to plot your schedules.  IF you had serious cash flows, oh oh, pin down those RED FLAGS so that they DON'T end as land mines❌❌❌
IF your relationship hit rough patches the past week, maybe you need to do a real honest SELF-REFLECTION where could you have done it better OR maybe it's your partner/spouse who needs more consideration?  BTW, let's take a very optimistic scenario where life has been so goody goody week after week, what now?  Maybe you can take monthly RESETS but keep your ears and eyes close to the ground as to WHEN DO YOU RESET life❗❗❗

So, Why Do We Give Up?

Let's admit it [and I'm one of those openly admitting this].  We give up SO EASILY when the going gets tough primarily because we're afraid to FAIL.  So, Why Do We Give Up? It becomes like our defense mechanism simply because we're afraid to FAIL.  Indeed, we all come across a point in our life when we FAIL numerous times and NOTHING else we do seems to work in our favor, NADA❗❗❗ 

This chart says it all, it lists down the eight most common reasons WHY DO WE GIVE UP [sometimes so easily].  Those times we FAIL are the times when we need to push ourselves the hardest and tap into our mental strength to see those FAILURES eventually rolling up to become our SUCCESSES.  True, to develop that habit of THINKING POSITIVELY will take years because it NEVER happens overnight✅✅✅

Not to further weaken the weak hearted, it takes years of training to THINK POSITIVELY and for our brain to have that mental strength.  There is lot of HARD WORK involved and it is something that people are afraid of WHEN it comes to following their dreams.  No one is willing to put in the required TIME, EFFORT and PATIENCE to endure the hardships aheadπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ

UNTIL we willingly accept the fact that NOTHING COMES WITHOUT A PRICE, there will be fewer SUCCESS stories and more people listening to them.  IF we think we have little time to develop our mental strength owing to our regular job OR any other work, let's RETHINK again.  As we are all given an equal number of time in a day, it's only a matter of utilizing it to the bestπŸ’ŽπŸ’ŽπŸ’Ž

IF you are surrounded by discouraging emotions and 'negative' people, hearing negative things about your capabilities can lead many of us to [wrongly] believe in them till we become WEAK and ready to GIVE UP [so easily], sometimes even without lifting a finger.  So, WHY DO WE GIVE UP if we can envision ourselves to be someone akin to this successful guyπŸ’ŠπŸ’ŠπŸ’Š
