the Present says about the Future

Why the Present says about the Future

Where are we all headed? Obviously, towards the future. But what's in store for us in the future? Not a tough question, though, since our present says [A LOT] about our future.

If we cower in fear now, that fear won't dissipate in thin air so soon. The likelihood is, we'll continue 'to walk on eggshells' for a long time [UNLESS/UNTIL we overcome that perennial fear].

If we're struggling now, unless we hit the Lotto Jackpot, trust me, we'll be in that struggle for quite sometime.

If we’re now living a life of passiveness [a.k.a. laziness], trust me, that rust will finally envelope you all over.

If we’re now living as ‘parasites’, with stretched necks awaiting the next round of financial aid, how can you get unleashed from that parasitism?

If you are so engrossed in social media, spending the biggest chunk everyday for non-work, you gotta wake-up man and be man enough to threaten yourself that whilst social media is part and parcel of life, it is not supposed to eat the biggest slice of your time. More critical priorities in your daily tasks will abound, surely.

And when it comes to our family’s health, if the family has been financially bleeding heavily to support a family member who’s IN and OUT bouts of a recurring serious illness, that will take its toll on the family’s coffers. A countermeasure becomes imperative to stop that ‘financial bleeding’. Rule of thumb here: never over-simplify a complex situation. You gotta drill and dice, cut things out to bits and pieces for you break up that complexity to a manageable level.

On the other hand, if you’re now living a blissful and successful life, nothing is etched on stone. Things may still go awry along the way but on the plus side, you have at least one foot at the doorstep of a similarly bright future ahead.

Now, don’t get me wrong. If we, as tightly knit families want to literally be with each other under one roof even if each of the siblings have started off their respective families, the worse is yet to come, trust me.

How can you overcome all these? Firstly, get consistently glued to your dream, your vision, which obviously is a future that's better than the present. Lean on your hindsight because hindsight has proven a better judge than the present. If your present is not the one you want to shape up your future, don’t dilly-dally, you gotta draw a drastic recovery plan now [and it has to be NOW]. Obviously, that recovery plan may be tough to execute but if you need to swallow the difficult pills, just do it.

Miracles do happen but optimistically, that’s a one in a million probability so throw away your unfounded clinging to hitting the Lotto Jackpot. Else, you might end up in a worse misery.

The respected but controversial American Muslim human rights activist aptly said: 'The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.

To quote the late American Evangelist, Billy Graham: ‘When wealth is lost, nothing is lost. When health is lost, something is lost. When character is lost, all is lost’.
