The Downside of our Digital Transformation

A realization: The Downside of our Digital Transformation

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION is all over us, all over the place. DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION is now the common road we all trek. DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION can't be ignored.

Not too long ago, bells like this were the norm in schools and everywhere. Yes, that was rigid and cold enough when it rings akin to cling-cling-cling but molded us to be disciplined enough to know that rules are rules. Break the rule and you break your leg.

Even when analog clocks were introduced right next to our bedside, we remained as disciplined as ever. When it rings, there we spring up from bed, no snooze, no mutes, just pure and plain brass tacks. So if we'll meet at our town's commercial center our long lost classmate from our graduating batch class, it was never a complicated story. See you then for dinner and drinks at Rosie's Diner at 6pm.

Fast forward after the Baby Boomers & Gen X, Millennials came and not long enough, Gen Y came and we even ended up with Gen Y.1 and Gen Y.2. So how do our Millennials and Gen Y's plan things out for the weekend ? hmmmm, i'll text you once at the mall or i'll give you a 'missed call' then. WTF. all these threw out in the window the most basic rules of time management.

In truth and in fact, there's nary time management anymore. Can you believe that, going through the motions with no rules. If our acquaintance ended up stalled in the middle of the traffic gridlock or if a freak accident creates that collateral damage, then you start chasing, speculating. Where you too early to arrive onsite ? Or were you too late ?

After going through that agony, after finally surviving another 'hell in paradise', you would just realize that the total time you spent for that rather uneventful day would have been better off if you just stayed home, get into Netflix or just running a channel scan if you realize you had an overdose of movies by then.

So folks, living in today's digital world is never a 'walk in the park'. A lot of time gets wasted, lots of efforts exerted go for naught and worse of worst, if you're living a life that is unwieldy and too chaotic, isn't it time to run a reality check and 'arrest your downward tailspin' before you end up hapless, helpless in our digital transformation.

Straight from my thought processes...
