Doublespeak equals Doubletalk

DoubleSpeak = DoubleTalk

Talk is cheap. In fact, words are free on-the-fly. That probably [absolutely in real terms] explains why, in life, we would witness tons and tons of double-speak and double-talk both amongst leaders and sometimes even within the confines of our homes.

Who’s on the losing end with all these double-speak and double-talk? It’s us the constituents. It’s us the family members. Not the culprit. Not the instigator. Not that sweet-talker. Not the speechwriter of that well-crafted speech by a leader. And definitely not that leader despite sounding fiery in deliver his words, despite seemingly having that 'fire in the belly'.

And all these double-speak and double-talk is what stirs a hornet’s nest. Regardless of the flair and eloquence of one’s speech, typical post-mortem feedback we may hear are: IS THAT FOR REAL? ARE THOSE SINCERE WORDS? WILL HIS NEXT ACTIONS MATCH HIS WORDS? Instead of assuaging the constituents, it tends to raise skepticism and lingering doubts, ancillary circumstances that may even lead to worsening scenarios.

What triggers all these skepticism and doubts? It is spelled C-R-E-D-I-B-I-L-I-T-Y. Once you become a discredited persona, your credibility gets tainted, tattered and worst tarnished. And with that level of credibility one has, what becomes of yourself, your self-value? You end up as ‘damaged goods’ and when you are deemed as ‘damaged goods’, say what you want but will your constituents buy your words? Will your family accept things hook, line and sinker? This is when TRUST has turned upside down into DISTRUST.

Steve Maraboli, an American 'life changing' author and speaker can be best quoted as follows: 'Most people will talk the talk, few will walk the walk; be amongst those few'.

And how in the world can you lead with DISTRUST upon you? But it’s never a lost cause if you remain steadfast to ‘repair your reputation’. How? Take a ‘damage control’, accept such shortfalls, regain control of your situation and establish that ‘roadmap back to recovery’.
