Why Threshold Matters

Why Threshold Matters

Why can there be successes versus failures ? achievements versus flops ? highs and lows ?

Put it briefly, twas NOT the strength, NOT the skills, NOT the coffers, NOT the dwindling reservoir of resources. But rather, what makes or breaks a man is that threshold either unknown to him or least expected by him.

But why does it matter ? Thresholds will dictate on you how far more can you go ? Thresholds will push you forward or pull you back in those treks. Thresholds is the ultimate factor that will make you realize whether you should carry on [despite all the travails] or simply call it quits.

Simply put, the threshold is a must-have even before you take the first step forward. Threshold is a must before you step into the four-cornered ring. Threshold is a must before you as the matador walks into the arena oozing with confidence against the bull.

So, let’s grind down to business. Threshold is assessing your capacity. It is evaluating your fervor to move on after you fail and fail over and over again. Threshold is measuring your intestinal fortitude to bear and endure the punishing pain when you are being bamboozled by sluggers and boxers who ruthlessly destroy your body till you waiver, till you weaken, till you wither.

By establishing your threshold, you effectively turn ‘garbage into gold’. In a snap, you turn defeats into wins, failures into successes. And giving an analogy that is very much relevant to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there is a no-brainer common factor amongst most, if not all, the Covid-19 survivors who, for 1 or 2 weeks thought that they had one foot into the grave. Yet, they turned around, they’re back on their feet. And what was the key ingredient in their breakthrough and survival ? It is that mental toughness that carried them through the agonies and ordeal.

In a nutshell, when you’re down or even when you’re drowning, NEVER GIVE UP an ounce.

Straight from my thought processes...
