Mirrors, do we need them

Mirrors, do we need them ?

Mirrors, do we really need them ?

Here’s the two-fold reason why indeed we need it. On one side of the coin, many things in life we do not have visibility. Especially our mix-ups, our mistakes. On the flip side, every day in our lives, we do achieve small successes, even those ‘flashes in the pan’ so to speak.

For our mix-ups and mistakes, more often than not, they are not apparent to us. You can even get into a pensive mood and self-reflect and try to fathom things out but that’s human nature. A lot of those miscues will hardly surface in our awareness dashboard. What does it take then for us to get into it rock bottom ? It’s those mirrors and those mirrors could be your immediate family, your confidant. They are the best channels and conduits for you to see things through and realize what needs to be rectified.

If you go the ‘Lone Ranger’ way, I’m sorry you’re doomed to fail even before you’re halfway your journey. Just don’t take matters into your hands, SUPERMAN does exist only in reel life, not real life.

On the other hand, it’s not all negativities. You do achieve small successes along the way. And this is when you need to momentarily get into a halt, pat your shoulders, beat your chest and blow your horn. Why ? You need those ABC’s and ABC stands for Activators, Boosters and Catalysts. Those are the elements that will add more fuel to your energy as you approach the homestretch.

In the track and field athletics, runners constantly aim to perfect that finishing kick or sprint finish in a race. You would need that ‘decent burst of pace’ to out-pace competition. Ironically in life, that competition could be yourself, your very own shadow. Could be your complacency. Could be your cockiness.

To piggy-back on Cameron Taylor’s best one-liner, “Life is not a competition with others. Life is a competition with yourself – to do your personal best each day”.

Straight from my thought processes...

Is CONSISTENCY An Issue?

Is CONSISTENCY An Issue? Is CONSISTENCY An Issue?  Me thinks, it is a legitimate issue.  As we all know, some of us prefer to take SMALL STE...
