Our #1 Enemy is spelled FEAR

Our #1 Enemy is spelled F-E-A-R

Yes, unfortunately, F-E-A-R is our worst enemy in life. Our planet Earth may have its climates like the tropical and polar zones, amongst others but the worst climate we can ever face in life is the CLIMATE of FEAR.

FEAR of HEIGHTS. Oh, in one of our family holidays, tugging along both a junior citizen and a senior citizen, we did overcome that fear of heights by going up to THE PEAK, Hong Kong's tallest point. And admittedly, once we all reached atop it, the feeling was more than exhilarating. It was achieving that sense of accomplishment after overcoming that fear of heights.

Back to reality, though. If there's one fear we all have a commonality, it's that FEAR of COVID. Who says they don't fear Covid? But enough said about Covid, our eyes are over-saturated with all the reading stuff about Covid. Instead, we'd like to tackle another fear that doesn't seem to surface up along the periphery because the cacophony of voices we hear is that fight for press freedom?

Oh really? We're asking for press freedom? And more of it? Hell, no way we deserve that, that's my 2-cents. Firstly, when we had it anyway, how many fearless voices do we hear ? Very few and far in between. We hear it from our very few principled citizenry. We hear it from the vociferous nationalists. We hear it even from the cantankerous personas beyond the pulpit.

But then, the worst climate we're all facing is that CLIMATE of FEAR. Even if we had all the press freedom in the world, where are the active and aggressive public service programs we used to have on TV. Gone are the days when we wanted to rush home by 7pm, take a quick dinner, freshen up then get glued at the lively interchanges amongst very opinionated guests.

Broadsheets are gone, that's a given. But what keeps us busy instead? Hmmmmm, i myself, first things first while having my morning coffee before 7am, the first news sites I visit are, ironically, nst.com.my, www.cnn.com and www.malaymail.com amongst others. Why these sites of all things? Honestly, for the longest time, I get immersed with news sites who manifest what press freedom is all about. And to break the monotony of news sites, i'll then jump off to NBA stuff like allucanheat.com, then jump off to the game of ajedrez at chess24.com.

Back to that climate of fear which haunts the plurality, if not the majority. For those asking that press freedom should not be curtailed, you guys need to show up and prove that you are using to the hilt whatever press freedom is now left in your hands. Simply put, if you're a student and your parents allot you a daily expense allowance of 10 dollars, you got to spend wisely those 10 dollars before you start angling for more.

Makes sense ? You got to feel that secure at your current level of fear before you even halluscinate to scale up a notch higher. Ooops, this snapshot reminds me of Legoland Malaysia. How time flies.

Straight from my thought processes...

Is CONSISTENCY An Issue? Is CONSISTENCY An Issue?  Me thinks, it is a legitimate issue.  As we all know, some of us prefer to take SMALL STE...
