Plug the Leaks & Believe in Yourself
No one has a monopoly of success. Not the greatest. Not the greats. Not even the western world. Not the gurus. And not even the high flyers who stepped out of the portals from Ivy League [e.g these are Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Cornell and Wharton School, amongst others].
It’s all B2B, that is back to basics, which if I may rattle off:
Firstly, be aware of your situation. If your boat is sinking or capsizing, recognize the fact that you are in dire straits.
Secondly, know ‘where the leaks’ are. Identify your weak points. Pin down on the defects that need to be patched, corrected and fixed.
Thirdly and this is of most paramount importance: believe in every fabric of your being and never underestimate your capability to leapfrog and take that quantum leap. The rise towards success goes through a gauntlet of Ifs, assumptions and maybes.
Nelson Mandela, the very respected freedom fighter pitched: ‘Everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what they do’. The very word that should hit our nerves here is ‘PASSIONATE’. In fact and in truth, in life, in anything you embark, you gotta inject passion in it. Doing things akin to going through the motion or working on something because there’s no other better choice you can pick from, trust me, every tick of the clock, you would feel the heaviness of your feet till you felt you’re literally dragging your feet, struggling every inch of the way.
I’ll drop a bombshell. Esports. Mobile Legend. Any takers ? Surely I would expect a long winded queue of esport diehards and Mobile Legend followers who would selflessly skip dinner and all those meals so that his esport session does not get interrupted. Sounds familiar? Yessirrrrr, surely you even heard some employees calling sick the next day. Don’t get me wrong, a good number of them indeed seem sick but why? Hmmmm, it’s because the previous night they were sleepless because of esports and Mobile Legend. That’s how P-A-S-S-I-O-N is spelled these days. Unfortunately, there is a very fine line that borders the path to SUCCESS versus FAILURE. You may be on the right track but one single mis-step will lead you to skid down that slope downwards.
Jack Ma, China’s most successful businessman, rattled this off: ‘On the path to success, you will notice that the successful ones are NOT whiners nor do they complain often’. Every step they take assiduously with their eyes focused not at the Finish Line but always at the next pit stop. And Jack Ma wraps things off with this quotable quote: “If you don’t give up, you still have a chance. Giving up is the greatest failure”.
But hold on, here is the human aspect in life. Wesley Fesler, the great American football, basketball and baseball player who later coached both in football and basketball, said: ‘By persistent hard work you will rise to success, but ultimately your accomplishments will be measured by how you treated your loved ones on the way up.
