Who is Our Worst Enemy?
Who's our worst enemy? You're spot on, it is us, our own self but that's where the crux of our problems lies. We hate mirrors. We detest reflectors. We steer clear of any channel that will lead us to see our true colors.
Nothing wrong to be enamored with our own self but if you're on the wrong path, where does that lead you to? The likelihood is you will end up in a dismal failure, a despicable end, a regrettable basket case of someone unabashedly cocky of himself, overly optimistic of his competencies despite his trending mediocrity that continues to push him at that other direction, from bad to worse till it becomes a point of no return.
Oooops, i'll welcome disagreements and dissents if I piggy-back on this quotable quote: 'The biggest enemy you'll ever face or deal with in life is...yourself'. But if we're quite blunt to state this debatable thought, my sheer intention here is to 'wake you up' from your deep slumber and misguided sense of cocky confidence. C'mon dude, don't be hard on yourself. Believe in yourself that you can turn a new leaf regardless of the pile ups of frustrations. Don't let your fumbling act bury you down deep because all you need is a streak of light to put you back on track and gain traction the soonest you get into that realization.
Only when you realize that your worst enemy is yourself will lead you to the very doorstep to extricate yourself from that dilemma. Unless and until you temper your ego and pride with humility, there's no exit routine will ever pop-up for you to take. Obviously, nothing is tougher than admitting that indeed you are your worst enemy but what gives ? Taking a hasty retreat doesn't mean throwing the towel.
Licking your wounds does not mean you are beating the living daylights that remains in you. If indeed you are in a situation of near despair, it may be the ripe for you to 'cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war'. In brief, cut loose and unleash yourself as there may be nothing else for you to lose anyway. To ride on this quotable quote: "Sometimes it's hard to fight your battle, when you are going against yourself. When you're your worst enemy". Indeed, this is a tough pill to swallow if you are your worst enemy but don't miss this out if you are now standing between the 'devil and deep blue sea' or subtly, if you feel you see yourself kinda squeezed between a rock and a hard place.
At the end of the day, you're simply holding on to a coin all that needs to be done is to flip it and whether it's head or tail, simply put, it's a black or white thing, a GO or NO GO, a judgment call that will just be either positive or negative, nothing neutral, nothing between the lines. When the die is cast, when you have to cross the Rubicon, it's for you to make the call.
Take it from Louise Hay, the respected American motivational author: 'You have been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn't worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens'. This is a mouthful telling us nothing is lost, that your may seem like an empty tank but that's the fuel gauge showing up as empty but in fact and in truth, you got some fuel left within you. C'mon, pick up the pieces dude.
