We have crossed the halfway mark of 2026 and YET, NOISE is still all over the place, right? After all the holiday festivities, come next day, things can be quiet and calm [WHEN people stayed up so late in the midst of frenzied activities]. YES, nothing beats the peace and quiet, it's lovely NO less. BUT WHEN we think about the year ahead , let's face it, many of us are nervous. We seem to be clinching, as IF for a fight, tensing as IF we know that a rollercoaster is about to start💚💛💜
WHILE at this point in time many people at this time of the year think about going through their sort of annual rituals of crafting their new year's resolutions even on things WHICH they can only partially control at best [LIKE getting a promotion, LIKE making more money, LIKE hoping to hit a major LOTTO prize], WHY can't we focus on things WHERE we can have much greater control and with some alignment of stars, we may even hit paydirt💥💥💥
True, we live in a world of constant NOISE. Not too long ago, I was already making NOISE because every time I walk into office in the morning, I would easily have 50 [YES, FIFTY] new mails in my inbox, these days, finding a tsunami of emails every morning is nothing new. Add up all the tons of social media updates and those never-ending coverage of news peppered with the barrage of digital distraction, WHAT else do we have is nothing short of a recipe of a cacophonous world😡😡😡
BTW, that's NOT going to change for the better. BUT the real problem at hand is IF you and me will let that all stuff overwhelm us, erode our concentration and even fog our thinking and focus until we end up tuning out the things that really matter. Taking a leaf HOW I modestly juggled things up, primus inter pares [that's first among equals], I would decide WHAT's essential because NOISE distracts and leaves us unproductive, leaving us with NO direction in fact. So we've got to get intentional about prioritizing WHAT really matters most to you and me✅✅✅
Our takeaway: One of the most constant challenge I would face is carving out a QUIET TIME during the day especially with our high-performance brains akin to machines. BUT alas, even like machines, they do crave for a quiet rest and reset. WHEN we wake up and just before hitting the sack, we need to endeavor that peace and quiet as it will be a shot in the arm for that respite we deserve as much as it is an entitlement that should NOT be hard earned. So, WHERE do we FOCUS if NOISE is all over the place???
