Life is 'PLUG & PLAY'

Life is 'PLUG & PLAY'

Life evolves.  Life even reinvents itself.  The old school of thought was that you got to have a university degree in Education to become a teacher, a degree in Science to be in the R&D medical lab, a degree in computer science to be in the technology space.  That was ages and ages ago.  Fast forward the past year under these dark clouds of the pandemic, like it or not, we have to dump off that old school of thought.  You can't look the other way around to avoid seeing something you don't want to see.  You can't be selective.  Your prying eyes shouldn't be filtering anymore [despite all the filtering apps on your finger tips].  Just face the mirror.

Imagine the nightmare  of a chaotic life wherein each time you have another device to plug-in, you gotta scour for an 'interface' for that to be plugged-in.  How messy life would be if we remain stubborn with these stark realities in life.  And assuming you're patient enough to bear with such a messy life, think about the costs and the inconvenience all those add-on efforts will impact on you.

Choosy.  Demanding.  Finical.  Inflexible.  Selective.  We gotta bury those adjectives under the bushel of oblivion because there is no place to squeeze those odd-odd traits in the rough and tumble life in today's world.  Swinging over to the workplace.  How often have you heard rumblings on the ground because, out of nowhere, another task or another responsibility was assigned ?  Surely you come across these scenarios quite often.  Hard to accept things but when we all got hit by this pandemic, overnight, the world did shrink and contracted.

And as we continue to preach time management, how often you would hear someone is not available for a 130pm call because he's got a 100-200pm call?  Seriously, you would see colleagues begging off from that 130pm call just because his calendar is blocked off on that 100-200pm window.  But is he really either the host of that 1pm call ?  If it's a touchpoint call, why can't he flex it out by requesting that his slot [for inputs] be either slotted in the 1st half or second half of the call ?  Quite frustrating, much as we all preached for robotics and automation, some of us seem more 'robotic' beyond the roof !

What's left on our hands ?  Let's go back to B2B [not that e-Commerce stuff] but rather, BACK to BASICS. Let's flex when needed.  Let's bend when it is called for.  We even have to stoop down if we have to.  And if that entails you to re-tool and upskill, that's the order of the day.  After all, learning is a lifelong process.

Handbrakes anyone ?  While our cars these days are now the electronic-type, that doesn't take away the challenge as to WHEN should you pull the handbrakes ?  Will you pull the handbrakes when you're in dire straits ?  Or when you're back is against the wall ?  Or if you are clutching on the very last straws [before you fall off in that deep ravine] ? Word caution.  Handbrakes are NOT Emergency Fire Exit Doors. We should not over-stretch it out to succumb to our being choosy, finical or selective.  Be fair to yourself. In a nutshell, we all gotta be PLUG & PLAY
